After watching and hearing about what Braun did for Travis Sanheim's development, we should throw a short term deal at him in hopes he can do something to help Ty Smith as we can not afford to mess up developing Smith.

Same thing goes for McCabe, Buffalo has a surplus of defenders and we get one for cheap that is reliable in his own end that will hopefully help to boost P.K. because we all know he needs a defensive minded defender alongside him that is faster than Andy Greene, who was good, but too slow due to age.

I know taking on Lucic is not ideal or an imporvement, but to get a second round pick, maybe even more, this helps Calgary and we get a good draft pick and at 4.5 for 3 years, at the worst, he is an expensive body guard for Jack Hughes.

This team is slightly improved, the improvements are nothing major and no long commitments incase it doesn't work out, but the key is developing Ty Smith because he is all we have that could potentially be a big impact defender and we can not fumble this. We keep all our important picks and this team will be better because it is reasonable to believe Hughes, Hischier, and Bratt will all be better this season just from getting older and experience from last season. Still another year before we talk playoffs, not a playoff team, but a step to making this one.
