It’s a little steep, but considering Andy Greene got NJD and 2nd for 20 games with NYI, it’s not that crazy of a price for Savard at the deadline*.

Would a second line center be nice, yes of course. Would losing Savard suck, yes of course. Would Savard or a 1st alone get us a 2nd line center, not a chance. Savard and Jones are the only 2 RHD we have on the roster, Peeke should be ready by the end of next year. So if we are to trade Savard we’d need to find someone to fill his spot and with Grigoranko and Foudy coming in next year maybe one of them can be the 2nd line center and maybe we can surprise everyone again and be a playoff team, If not we sell off Savard, Murray, And other UFAs for picks and prospect at the deadline. Savard is an important piece to the team, so unless someone wants to make a Savard and Anderson for a 2nd line center trade, then we don’t have to move him. Plus he can always sign an extension and make this a moot point.
