This team WILL be elite once the prospects grow into full time NHLers. Also I believe that in most of those trades (maybe not the Petry one) swap the 2nd for a conditional pick on if they re-sign. But other than an overpaid Dougie Hamilton and an aging Carey Price, this team has minimal leadership and experience to get them anywhere.

You didn’t read the description. Weber is still a top pairing RHD. He’s pretty durable, doesn’t look like his game will age. The Leafs will be an instant contender during the remaining 5 years of his contract.

Yes I would be fearful about the lack of leadership too, but there is just too much talent in all areas of the lineup to not do well. The Hamilton contract is big but it’s only 2 years. He’s one of the best defencemen in the league when healthy & is in the prime of his career. He’ll be there until Fleury or Juulsen are ready for a bigger role.

Mark stone with an extension got branstrom and a 2nd. Stone is clearly much better than gally and Branstrom is better than Poulin.

Columbus isn’t making that trade. With how bad our prospect pool it isn’t worth trading Foudy who will be our second line center for Domi.
