@ON3M4N

I think it can work... obviously giving up 3 firsts is too much, but from a $ standpoint I think it's extremely doable!

There is less than $1 million cap space with only 21 players on the roster. No one way does Boston not carry a 7th d-men or a 23 man roster.

Without the firsts, its much more reasonable...

But bruins still decline: we like debrusk and would rather not take an aging Claude for a huge cap hit

Okay but it's doable IMO. They have almost 5M tied up into their 4th line that they could maneuver to make it work.

Still, Krug and Grzelcyk are underpaid

If PHI retains a bit..

I just took off @ users last GM for his valuation tbh. G to B would be insane though.. Bergy Pasta Marcha G? Krejci could slot in at 3C and Bergy G Krejci... imagine lol

The Philly player that suits the Bruins need the most at #2RW (if Kase doesn't pan out) is Konecny!

For that, is the 1-for-1 ask: RD Carlo <<< >>> RW Konecny??

One of those 4th liners is a guy you're acquiring in the trade, so why either bother acquiring him? In fact Laughton is about 50% of the $5 million spent on the 4th line. Is it doable for 1 year, sure (although you're missing the signing of a guy like Bjork, Khulman, Senyshyn, Zboril) but next year? Say the cap goes up to $84 million, Boston is sitting with around $33 million to spend:

Krejci
Kase
Kuraly
Frederic
Ritchie
Carlo
Chara
Rask
Halak

-Rask is going to get a raise, but lets say its a small raise of $7.5 million

-Krejci is still a very good #2C and has said he wants to keep playing. production wise the last 3 years he's on par with Joe Pavelski who just signed a 3yr/$7 million deal. But Pavelski is a better goal scorer so lets say Krejci takes a discount and signs a 2yr $5.5 million deal

-Carlo won't come cheap if you want to lock him up long term. He's a premier shutdown RHD with some untapped offensive upside. I wouldn't be surprised to see him cost $4 to $5 million a year long-term.

Just between these 3 guys you've already eaten up $17 to $18 million or 50% to 55% of the cap space and you'd still have 8-9 spots you need to fill.

Giroux is great but I want the Bruins to go younger up the middle.

Want to see Sweeney trade for center. But a younger one.

Even if the cap doesn't go up, with just a little over $31 million to sign said guys above, I can't see how it isn't doable.

Say you're spot on and Rask @ 7.5M, Dave @ 5.5M and Carlo @ the high end 5M, you'd have 13.4M left.

Chara - will make 1M again if not Retire
Kase - less than 5M
Kuraly - less than 2
Frederic - 1-1.5M
Ritchie - 1-1.5M
Halak - less than 2.5M

And it's not like 1/2 these guys are a lock to come back/get resigned IMO

There are some guy there that are unknowns, but you still have roughly $12 million in space space right there with a few more spots to fill. At the end of the day you're putting yourself in a tight cap space the following off-season and that hinders your ability to be able to make moves to bring in help if need be.
