Description
Twenty-sixth of a series ending on June 30. Mainly doing these to get a better understanding of teams I’m not a “fan” of per say.

Any trade I make will also show up for the other team when I get to that team.

Don’t get mad at me for the lines for the whole series really since I’ll be using the lines before the stoppage and will factor in injured players where I see fit...though do feel free to make suggestions on the lines.

Tampa Bay Lightning:
The first one is pretty basic. Might be an overpay but the 2nd could be unconditional if it is.
The second one makes cap space in the shape of coburn for hajek and trades from a position of strength (ld) to one of weakness (rd). It has now come to my attention that deangelo and brisebois have history but I already made the ny team so it is what it is.

Gourde waives to get a larger opportunity in Detroit and paquette is moved for cap space.

So your saying to do this trade and subsequently trade Trouba?

nah. I'm saying there's maybe 20-25 players in the entire league I'd trade Deangelo for, Sergachev isn't one of them. The point is to hold Deangelo and trade Trouba.

Can't think of that many:
1) McDavid
2) Drai
3) Quinn Hughes
4) Petterssen
5) Shea Theodore
6) Mark Stone
7) MacKinnon
8) Scheifele
9) Aho
10) Barzal
11) Jack Hughes
12) McAvoy
13) Eichel
14) Larkin
15) Kucherov
16) Matthews
17) Svechnikov
18) Pastrnak
19) Point
20) Crosby

Then there's a handful that I'd deal for with better contract situations: Barkov, Huberdeau, Dougie, Gaudreau, Couturier, Rielly,

That's about it.

Jackets decline. We've got plenty of bottom-6 centers already. What we need is a legit #2C.

Colorado pass on that, it's a really bad deal under the circumstances.

Due to his partial NTC Killorn can eliminate 16 teams, which could basically be all the teams with capspace who aren't contenders, so we'd have little if any competition for him. Tampa's bargaining position is extremely weak due to their cap situation too.

There will be tonnes of teams wanting to trade their $3-5m middle 6 forward contracts this offseason, as well as a plethora of under-priced UFA's to be had in free agency, and Colorado is in a great position to take advantage. As such there's absolutely no reason to pay market value here.

I'd be willing to go up to a 2nd + 3rd (with no conditions) or alternatively offer Jost straight up, but any more than that and I'd pass. Jost has no arbitration rights this offseason so can be resigned at a really cheap caphit, at least on a 1 year contract. Though I suspect that Tampa would want no salary coming back at all.

That said, even a 2nd + 3rd feels silly when we could simply resign Namestnikov to a cheaper contract. Killorn is probably slightly better, but overall I'd say that the balance of the decision would be in favour of Namestnikov + 2nd + 3rd over Killorn.
