It does not. And we arent. Wilson stated already sharks are not entering a rebuild, were buyers not sellers this offseason.

5 years ago I probably would have given up that much for Couture, but not today, not with his 8 year contract at age 31, not a chance!

I think the Couture trade is a decent idea, but not very mutually beneficial. Leafs fans will tell you it's too much to give up for him and Sharks fans will say it's too little. I like the idea though.

Yep. Way too much mileage on him for my liking.

Sorry Trickster. Couture isn't waiving his NTC to end up in Minnesota.

So if the sharks are rebuilding, why do we want Kerfoot and Johnson? Neither will be around by the time the team is good again. Much rather get a top prospect

Funny how MIN has to pay up Brodin+Donato+1st for Couture, but Leafs can get him with Kerfoot+Mango+2nd...

I think you missed the 1st rounder going to Sharks.
I am moving on though as this was an exploration of on something

Dunno about it, when you think about the assets the teams are losing

SJ: Couture, Sörensen

TOR: Kerfoot, Johnsson, 2nd

MIN: Brodin, Donato, 1st

TOR is getting very much but giving up very little. SJ gets a fair value for Couture, but MIN gets the shortest stick on this exchange.

That is based on how you view Couture.

Couture's controversial due to his age and contract, but as a player I think he's the best of the bunch.

But that's not the point. Point is that TOR gets way more bang for their buck than the other teams does. No way MIN would move essentially Brodin and Donato for Kerfoot+Johnsson+Duszak+2nd, because that is what TOR is getting in comparison to what they're moving away.
