Panarin spent nearly all of his time with PLD at center and one of Bjorkstrand or Atkinson on the wing. Anderson's most common linemate was Boone Jenner, and the left wing on that line rotated between several guys. Anderson briefly played with Panarin and PLD in December 2017, but that experiment only lasted a few weeks.

Wait how did his production tank like that

One can't always be 100% sure but what we do know is that he'd never actually fully recovered from a shoulder injury sustained in the series against Boston, tried to play through it regardless, and eventually had to go get surgery.

What about Kaut, Bowers, 1st?

All 3 of those would be too much. That's basically 3 1sts after all, with 2 of them being more or less NHL ready.

I'd do Kaut + 1st or Bowers + 1st for Rakell.

If it's Bowers + 1st I'd probably also be willing to include an additional minor asset, like one of our other forward prospects (eg. Ranta/Beaucage/Mutala).

Depending on what other big moves we make in the offseason (i.e. depending on how important capspace becomes) I'd also be willing to throw you a 2nd or 3rd to get up to 50% retention on Rakell's contract.

Oh... but still since his injury and his production tanking doesn’t that make a case for his value to as well?

Well this how I value those pieces.
Kaut>1st>Bowers.
So Kaut and a first is fine by me

If we can get Ranta or Mutala I’ll be so down for that

Yes and no. We don't want to trade him because we're pretty sure there's a good chance he'll bounce back after surgery. And when he was healthy and playing well, he was a speedy goal-scoring power forward - a pretty useful weapon to have.

I do like that oilers trade and would do it if JP doesn’t come back.
