Bump that 5th up to a 4th, minimum. Hartman's one of our few rhs players. Which is a major need for our team. Wild aren't going to deal him for anything less.

Hagg actually developed nicely this year and was a 2nd rounder. He's still only a 3rd pairing dman but he throws the body around, blocks a lot of shots, and was having a solid season. His scouting report was projected to be a solid two way dman but never developed much of an offensive game. Honestly at this point I wouldn't trade him away for a 2nd round pick and wait and see how he continues to develop.

Hagg only got to 50 games played because of injuries.

You went from "who" to knowing how good he is? So he got around 50 games in a shortened year, a full 82 last year, but only played because of injuries? Got it....

Again, he's not great and pissed me off on several occasions the last few years but he made some really good strides this year and is only 25.

I agree whole heartedly and think you underestimate his offense. He averages over 0.25 pts a game, over an 82 game season hes a 20-28 pt guy, with NO PP time in 3rd pairing minutes, that's actually really good.

Hes young, cheap, hits, blocks shots and is a very capable 3rd pairing guy. He was benched behind provorov, sanheim and gotisbehere, which is a faily well stocked LD.

Some fans who criticize him are the same ones that celebrating the well protected Mezsaros (who played behind pronger, Timonen, carle and Coburn). The team played so much better with Hagg in the lineup, whos reliable.

Hes worth a late 2nd rounder no doubt. But I think Philly tries to move Ghost and his 4.5mil before they move Hagg for futures. (In fact with puck rushers provorov, myers, sanheim, niskanen, ghost all usually around the 30 points or more mark and York, zamula and a boatload of more puck rushing dman prospects, Hagg has more value as a stay at home type).

Is Hagg expendable, sure, but he has value and has been reliable in his role.

I stand by my point that he is not even #6 D man, and now consider his cap hit.

So many better options.

The point of this roster is to value physicality. In your opinion, who would be better than Hagg?

The issue I see with our bottom pairing is puck moving.
Neither Morin or Hagg do it well at all. Not gonna fly in today’s game. Rather move Hagg and pair Morin with Ghost or if Morins no go than Friedman and Ghost. Add to that Hagg needing a raise.

Well for the Flames, Kylington will have that role and he wont cost 2 million.
And Brodie is probably returning to Flames in which nor Gudas or Hagg are there.

In the regular season, puck skills get you wins. But in the playoffs, more physicality is allowed. Zadorov absolutely creamed Tkachuk in game 1 last year, which set the tone for that series. It's no mistake CGY got both Lucic AND Rinaldo. I'm looking at CGY as a dark horse to get to the West finals. WPG goalie is their best player and nobody knows better how to disrupt a goalie than Milan Lucic. I think the Jets are in for a world of hurt.

If you watch Hagg play one of his biggest issues is taking him self out of the play in an attempt to lay a hit. Happens time and again. Add to that he can’t handle the puck to save his life. Not worth it to resign him in my opinion. Some Combo of Morin, Ghost and Friedman can make up the 5/6/7.

Hmm, good to know. I don't watch much Flyers hockey. All I know is he kinda leapfrogged Morin for D prospects. And he's been getting a regular role. And, of course, that he has been a Hit leader

Morin isn’t healthy and hasn’t been. He’d be above Hagg I’d imagine if he could stay healthy.
