Nylander for Parayko worked until last year when people still had doubts about Willie's potential. Not anymore. I see him as untouchable.

I'd trade Nylander for Parayko in a heartbeat. If the Leafs want to be contenders, they will inevitably have to sacrifice scoring for a large, punishing defender like Parayko (who has a Stanley Cup ring). How many playoff rounds have the Leafs won in the last few years with all this skilled scoring? .... ZERO

I am definitely going with a never in a million years STILL NO NEVER Parayko for Nylander. Look at it from Blues perspective we are losing Pietrangelo why would we trade Parayko and be left with Justin FauLk guys a bum. And Nylander is more expensive and we don’t need wingers we are heavily stacked on forwards. This makes absolutely no sense for the Blues. Toronto sure Blues no.

You won’t get either of Mikheyev or Dermott for 1.25 million.

Rakell is a top 6 caliber player, where you would play him is irrelevant for his value Liljegren doesnt get close to getting Rakell and Petan has the value of a 6th at best a first minimum is added for Rakell

I have looked at a trade like this before....either Nylander or Marner for Parayko and I agree it does not work unless Leafs help Blues out by taking back a big contract with Parayko someone like Jake Allen to provide cap relief for Blues to be able to sign Pietrangelo….otherwise there is no point in them losing both Parayko and Pietrangelo

If Pietrangelo is gone, Parayko instantly becomes the biggest untouchable on the STL roster. If Petro stays, there is still no reason to trade our best defensive d-man for a RW when we have Tarasenko, Perron, and a few other guys capable of playing that role. Even if Nylander is the more impactful player (debatable) his role is much easier to fill compared to Parayko's... hence why the only people that post this trade scenario are Leafs fans.

I'd throw Dermott into the deal to help make this trade happen... but, like our Blues friends said - no way St. Louis deals Parayko for Nylander straight up!!! It was only a few years ago that the Oilers had to give up Taylor Hall to get Adam Larsson - and no GM would EVER trade Parayko for Larsson.

No can do. Not that Parayko wouldn't be useful. He'd sure help the Leafs at a position of need. But Nylander's value has skyrocketed. He has just too much value right now for two years of Parayko. Not going to happen.

Have faith that the Leafs can resign anyone that they really want & add another scoring winger through trade or free agency.... even this kid Robertson is being talked about like he's the next Martin St.Louis.

oh I agree about Larson....as for throwing in Dermott I dunno...have to remember the more cap we send Blues the harder it is for them to re-sign Pietrangelo…..if we have to dump Dermott for cap space maybe it's to someone else for a pick….
