Yeah think Seattle's not touching that Horny contract.

If I had to guess, they'll be taking Blueger or Simon.

Simon would be a UFA at that point.

Maybe on Blueger, but throw enough picks at them and they'll take Hornqvist.

      Don't think second's enough.

Also on this site almost everyone is planning to pay up to Seattle to take one of their bad contracts. In the end some of them just won't happen.

Assuming he signs only one year deal then yes.

There are 31 teams. This is the ONLY one I don't want to win the lottery.

But deep, deep down you know you want the chaos. Let the chaos loose, I say.

Seattle is gonna take him, and probably Murray.
      And that will be that.

Horny's contract isn't as bad as you think. It's only 2 years for Seattle.

It's not hard to figure this out. They won't have a better option at goalie. If they don't make a deal by the time FA opens, the penguins move a goalie and their odds of having a starting level goalie go in the toilet.

Until we see what happens with the UFA goalies the next offseason, I ain't speculating that.

There really aren't many FA hitting the market at goalie. Just like this year. Teams just don't part with their starting goalies.
You got Rask, Andersen, both of which probably resign.
Then you got Binnington and Allen, one of which resigns with STL.
The argument can be made Allen isn't really starting quality considering he lost his job to Jordan.

That's really it. There isn't a lot out there there never is. It's why a team like CAR still doesn't have a quality goalie.

Yeah I meant this offseason. You know, there's quite a lot of good goalies going UFA: Lehner, Markström, Holtby, Greiss, Khudobin etc.

Wouldn't be to surprised if one of those just might end up in CAR.

By default though picking Murray is the most logical option for Seattle. Still don't get why Horny would be included.

Because it's the price of them not trading him before hand and the penguins need cap space

So let me get this straight - in order for Pens to keep Murray the next year so that Seattle could take him for free, Seattle would need to take Horny as well?

That's some hugely twisted logic there. SEA won't give a sh*t what Pens do until the day of ED arrives. There's other options as well, from free agency if necessary.

Wouldn't be too surprised if SEA goalies are Raanta and Högberg.

I hate to break it to you but these deals are made well in advance.
They aren't made during the draft of hours before.

They will be made this off season before FA kicks off.

It's just naive to think they happen the day of the ED.

      And Mr. Know-it-all strikes again.

Somehow I find that pretty hard to believe. But I guess we'll see.
