I think he needs a change of scenery to improve his game but if he comes to toronto it wont work out. Maybe a more defensive team would work as he could learn better defense.

I saw this trade "rumored" on one of those rumor sites, LeafsNation or something? I highly doubt it's a move that's considered. Between the fact that he has 2 years left on his current deal, and the fact that his salary comes in over $5 million, and his reputation (or rumored reputation), I think the Leafs will at least explore more controllable and cheaper options for upgrading their blueline this offseason.

He literally cannot play defense, his +/- isn't bad I guess but was he matched up against good competition or 3rd and 4th lines? 33 points in 69 games isn't bad at all but nothing spectacular, a 40 point defenseman who can't play defense is hardly something I'd want my team giving up assets for and paying over $5M. May as well trade for Jake Gardiner for dirt cheap

He lead all Buffalo defensemen in minutes played and averaged 22:48 so he played against top lines. He also throws in some grit as he lead all dmen in the league in hits. It's just easy to hate on him because of perception, he also still has time to develop

Maybe he leads the league in hits cause hes always throwing himself out of position. If you watch games, hes bad defensively and you don't have to look hard to see it. He might be better on a better team but I'm just saying I wouldn't give up assets for a guy who sucked this last year. Terrible advanced stats as well to reinforce the eye test
