Senators Thinking Ahead

Draft Class: 2020

Description
The Senators will not get Drysdale if they pick Stutzle at 3. They can either deal with it and pick Stutzle and then a forward (Perfetti, Raymond, etc) or they can trade down and let Detroit have Stutzle while getting Drysdale and a forward.

The funny thing is: Ottawa doesn't really need Drysdale! They picked quite some defensemen in the early rounds of the past drafts. At RD, they have Brannstrom (#15, 2017 draft), Thomson (#19, 2019), Bernard-Docker (#26, 2018). They have Chabot and Tychonick (#48, 2018) on the left side. Ottawa lacks high-end offensive talent and should select forwards, at least with their first two picks.

I think Drysdale will fall all the way to Anaheim. Maybe Detroit takes him, but they have spent a lot of early draft picks on defensemen in recent years

Sens need a 1C way more than they need a Dman. They have a good crop of young defenders with upside. They're absolutely starved for Elite forward talent beyond Tkachuk.

i agree with ottawa not taking drysdale they can use pick 18 to get a high end d propect.. ottawa should go rossi hard to argue with 58% faceoff with and 2.14 ppg // q. byfield at 3 rossi at 5 and D-prospect at 18. would be ideal for them .

Since the lottery is evened out at 12.5% across the board, that gives each team a 6.25% chance if the series are 50/50. You can't bet on any team winning Laf.

What? There are 16 teams competing in the play-in round of the playoffs. That leaves 8 teams who could win the 1st overall pick. The odds are split equally at 12.5% each. But there are 16 teams in the play in round, all with a 50% chance of getting into the lottery. This puts every play-in team at a 6.25% chance at getting the 1st overall pick.
