I agree in theory, but I dont see any players giving less than 100% in order to get a shot at 1OA. I do see some exec's and fans breathing a sigh of relief when they lose.

Totally agree about the lottery after the play in round. But literally unless a team decides to bench it’s best players it will literally have zero effect on the games. The player could give a rats ass about the lottery they want to win RIGHT NOW. That all being said there were so many people I know that said the numbers were just to high, effectively a play in’s team chance at the #1 overall was collectively higher than any team beside OTT (who had a double dip w/SJS) at 24.5%, or because they pooled the play in teams the literal odds for each team in the lottery went
1. OTT
2. DET
3. 4 losing playin teams
4. Kings
5. Ducks
6. Devils
7. Sabres
Whatever genius signed off on that wasn’t thinking.
And now in 3 of the last 4 yrs the team with the best odds has lost.
