You're not getting the 1st overall pick unless you give up the 3rd and 5th overall picks or give up Tkachuk, Chabot or Brannstrom.

No chance Bettman allows the Nucks, Oilers, Flames Habs, Jets or Leafs name get called as winners of the Draft. Lafreniere will be placed in a loser American team, who need help to survive. Arz, Flo, Car, or a big market city like NYR or Chi.

As a Jets fan I seriously consider that. Replacing the 2nd with a RHD like Thompson or JBD and I would take it and run.

Yeah honestly it makes sense for the Jets to get Byfield or Stutzle for 2C, get rid of some cap and load up with more assets

Actually if the Islanders lose their play in series they have a 12.5% chance to win that 1st overall pick, which means Ottawa won't get our 2020 1st round pick they'll get our 2021 1st over all pick instead. That's only if the stars are aligned and Lou's chanting some heavy voodoo though.

It’s probably an overpay from an Ottawa perspective and could definitely maneuver some parts to make it work. It would work for both sides though

but it could also somehow fit in between the 8th pick and 5th pick. Heck they can even get Lafreniere. Who knows, Cats have Bobrovsky who despite having a down year was crucial in sweeping the Bolts last season

Hawks Perspective: I’d seriously consider this. I’m not up to speed on Laf but look at Hischier and Hughes; not exactly tearing things up. So although he may be a great NHL player he may not be as dominant compared to Stutzle so it may work out. (Yes I realize it’s premature to say that about Hughes)

Hawks can get Stutzle at #3 and get rid of Seabs contract. Plus that may be a catalyst for the ever popular Strome for Brodin swap and holy crap that’s an upgrade.

Laf + Seabs + Strome for Stutzle + Brodin + 15th and I think that’s a very interesting offer.
