Columbus

I’d have to agree here. Columbus and Minny could be good for the league

I might be biased but I say the Jets do deserve to be up there because everything that happened to us last offseason. All the good players that left our team and the defence which was absolutely horrible this season, we could have easily just rolled over and tanked. We stayed in the fight though and did real good considering the circumstances.

Yeah but Columbus had several UFAs that they knew weren't going to resign. Instead of trading them off at the TDL they acquired a couple rentals and gave it there best shot. Now "all in" is used way too much here and incorrectly and Columbus is the only team to go "all in" at least in the salary era.

You want to compare horrible seasons without giving up? The Habs never gave up even when virtually eliminated from contention. Plus the Habs are getting screwed the worst in the draft lottery this year! Even if we lose the play-in round our odds would have been 25% to land the 1st OVA had we maintained the original draft odds. Now we have an equal 12.5 % that is 86.5% chance we don't win. Not great! Also look at our odds to win the cup we are a 10000:1 long shot. The only reason the Jets feel screwed is because it was their pick that won the lottery! So while everyone is going to claim the deserve Lafrenier the truth is only 2 teams really have a case.

1. Montreal 55%
2. Winnepeg 45%

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Arizona. With the move to the Central, new ownership, and the push to get a new rink, Laf could be a HUGE boost for their team. As a fan of another team, but someone who lives in Arizona, they have the fans. The drive to Glendale is just horrendous.

Objectively, the Canucks have dropped more spots in the lottery than any team in the league except Colorado. They've been screwed by the lottery for 5 years straight and still managed to put a good core together. They deserve a break.

It's not really a "deserve" type of thing... however if one team doesn't "deserve" it, it's Pittsburgh.

I would like to see Columbus get it. They don't have a playoff team on paper, but have been sensational. They haven't caught many breaks yet, here's their chance.

Non biased:

I’d love to see CBJ get it, and they’re not in the central so that helps.

Biased:

Obviously I feel screwed out of the pick as if playoffs would have been normally done we would’ve won the draft so I’d love to get it anyways. I have an issue with jets beating calgary so I feel like we’ll be in that second lottery. Also, getting laf solves our issues. With him we can move a forward like Laine for a top 4 RHD and a c prospect.

Most realistic:

Honestly, I think ARI might get it, they probably lose their play in and with hall, it’s likely they win the lottery LOL

Disclaimer: I think most of these teams do not deserve the first pick but it is inevitable that one of these teams will get the first pick

Agree. I used to live in PHX for 4 years. Westgate is such a cool area except it’s in the middle of literally nowhere.

Toronto for the simple reason of losing to he who shall not be named.

But realistically Columbus, they need a superstar and he would do well with Torts

The wings were awful because their management sucks and was unwilling to improve the team. They were in the lottery and lost it that is how things are supposed to go Neither the Habs OR the Jets were in the lottery and the Habs chances at drafting 1st were cut in half for the next round not to mention the Jets pick actually won the lottery. This makes is why they both deserve better odds at Lafreniere than anyone else
