In fairness, that usually means value is close. Could probably drop the pick a round

i think its fair but L. Brown could explode for 60pts a season or be a bust which is why im reluctant to do it now before giving him a full NHL season to see what we have in him

Rodrigues is a player who has great analytics but isn’t a very good player.

Wouldn’t Barrie be redundant with Letang on the roster? It would provide some offensive fire power though.

I really don't think Matt Murray is a good target for Ottawa. He's incredibly inconsistent

Looking like you're getting Byfield for his spot so depends whether you think he's worth the risk of turning into nothing as a project or if you'd rather just have two guaranteed NHL players

Has been consistent in the playoffs, Pens also play a very different style. He'd be better suited for Ottawa

Malkin isn't redundant with Crosby, can't have too many good defensemen

I don’t disagree and I love Barrie (Avs fan) just curious how it would play out with both of them defensively is all.

depends Stutzle could be a real good winger for Logan Brown if he pans out.

On the left side POJ should be ready by the end of next season, would give them Dumo-Petterson-POJ as strong defensive players on the left and Letang-Marino-Barrie as transitional/offensive players on the right. Think it would be a well balanced unit

LOL 2X5 for Tyson Barrie try more like 6x6 minimally.

Coming off a rough season 2x5 sets him up for a massive payday when cap is set to go up and he's only 30. Don't know many teams that could offer him 6x6 and this gives him a better chance to win than any of those options.

Makes more sense for them given center depth and current rankings. Could also see them trading back to 3 with Ottawa picking Byfield either way

His numbers in the playoffs the last two years are nothing special.

In his first two seasons, I was convinced he was going to be the next big thing, but in the 3 years since he hasn't really wowed me. I'm not saying he's a bum, I just don't think he's a guy I'd be willing to bet on at the price he would cost.

I mean i love both. Byfield would be our missing piece for a 1C. If we take Stutzle, we could also take Rossi and move Stutzle to wing

Sens pass. Murray is coming off a bad season. Plus he doesn't really fit our contending period unless we sign him long term which will be pricy (and risky).

The penguins do not have 5 million to pay Barrie. So that's never happening. Odds the cap goes up the year after are low. And even if you Move hornqvist, you don't have the cap space for Marino especially with having to give a few other guys small raises. For what. A 5 million 3rd pairing guy. Not even remotely in the budget.

I keep seeing this with Sens fans. 60pt season.....he hasn't done anything. His time at the NHL level does not scream 60 pt season. And odds are if you are already feeling the guy is a bust, you should probably trust your gut.

He's turning into OTT's Kyrou. Fans build him up but there is nothing there. For years STL fans though the guy was worth 1st round picks etc... he was the next coming of jesus ready to walk on water. He's little more than a run of the mill 3rd 4th liner and his value is gone. He's 22 next season. He's got 1 maybe 2 more before you can just label him bust.

It would be a huge mistake to put Stutzle on the wing. He's the fastest guy on the ice. Putting him against the boards takes that away from him. It's like shooting yourself in the foot. The best place to play him is center, in space. Where he can use his speed to be disruptive. He is not only fast but really quick. He can cover so much space.
