Domeski and a lot more

Created by: Smithcd995

Initial Creation Date: Jun. 27, 2020

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This is a lot but I think it would give us 2 scoring lines especially with Domi and skinner to help bring Cozens along at wing. A really tough third line to play against. And a split at goal better than we had last season.

  1. Domi, Max [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Hear me out. I think this would be good for both teams. Domi will put up a bunch of points with skinner and get him out of his funk from last year. Montreal gets a high pick and two pretty solid prospects for a guy that might not fit there. Probably a slight overpay for what buffalo can afford but I think it would pay dividends.

Not sure if this one makes sense but both are pending UFAs. Gives buffalo some grit and minny a touch more offense.

The confidence in someone taking on Hutton’s contract for a irrelevant draft pick is hysterical.

Bro the ignorance for saying he’s going to take a first is one of the dumbest statements I’ve ever heard. Nobody is dumb enough to trade a first to save an extra 1.5 mill. That’s the no exaggeration the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard on this site. He’d get buried in the minors way before giving up a first rounder. Use your head guy.

Why else would anyone want to take his awful contract. You have to give up incentive and you arent willing to do that. Since it’s a flat cap rate cap space is going to be more valuable than ever before, and you don’t understand that from any other point of view except for Buffalo because you think the NHL deserves to give Buffalo a favor and just make things cheaper. Not how the world works bud.

Lol I’m literally telling you that buffalo giving him up with a first rounder for one year of under 2 million would be the most asinine thing anyone has done in a long time. He gets buried in the minors ages before giving up a first rounder. Idk why that’s a revolutionary concept. He’s not even remotely close to a crippling contract you’re acting like he’s making 6 million here. Also why the hell wouldn’t a team like Detroit take a free third rounder to bury him instead of Buffalo when they won’t spend to the cap anyways? They should and probably would? Even if they don’t whatever it’s not a huge deal to buffalo at all. 30 teams would line up for a free first rounder to take him because that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard in my life.

No why would any team take him for a 4th round or 5th round pick when the salary cap budget is so hard to come by? I know Buffalo wouldn't do it, but no other team would take on his contract. It would take Chiarelli to take his contract as a favor for literally a spare part LOL.

Because there will be multiple teams that don’t get within 5 mill of the cap that can have a pick for free and bury the dude in the minors. It’s not like every team is going to be in cap trouble this year with a flat cap.

that's not true especially when teams are willing to pay a first round pick to get players like Neal and Lucic off their books. They will have plenty of chances to get up to that threshold and get a first round pick doing it. They aren't gonna be all that interested in a spare part 4th-5th round pick to take on a crappy goalie

That is so irrelevant they make 6 mill and both have three years left. Not even in the same stratosphere there.

It’s still salary cap they could take for better return for 1, and for 2 you are a buffalo fan so you are being quite bias right now. So I’m just gonna be done with this conversation. There is no changing a bias fans mind ever 🤷🏻‍♂️

It's not a bias when I literally don't have any care whether Hutton is on the team or not. He was a throw in to the deal above. If he got taken out and switched for something else it makes zero difference to Buffalo. Coming from a fan of a team that sucked ass for years (still does but that's beside the point) I wish they would have traded for someone like him and picked up a free third rounder because you are getting it for nothing at all in a rebuilding year when it makes no difference whatsoever to your salary cap. I could see your argument if Hutton had 3 years remaining or even if his hit to the cap was something like 5 million, but your logic is flawed because you are viewing it through a team without a ton of cap space and the luxury of a Stanley Cup in your back pocket, that has never tanked like a few teams are doing right now and like many teams have done before. Any tanking team should take a free third rounder for any 1 year deal that isn't going to put them over the cap. It's just smart business. If the deal above doesn't make sense because it's to a contending team, that's one thing. But to say it would take a first to move a 1 year 3 million dollar contract is another and its completely asinine.
