Krug and Murray no Palmieri

Created by: deys3232
Team: 2020-21 New Jersey Devils
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 28, 2020
Published: Jun. 28, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Devils take Perfetti with their own pick and Sanderson with the Coyotes pick.

It feels like a very Devils thing to overpay for Krug even though they have Smith, Muller and Sanderson.

nah not trading Murray for a top 20 protected pick. If it was top 5 or something, ok. But top 20 is just pushing it.
You can OS him if you want him that bad. It will cost a 1st and a 3rd.

Murray doesn’t have half that value. A potential number 6 pick for Murray who had under 900 save percentage? You’ll be lucky to get 2 2nds. This offer is way too much anyways.

they wouldn't move him for 2 2nds. It would take a first. Not that they are moving him at all. He's most likely going to Seattle.
But you can spare me the he's not worth the 18th or the 15th pick or whatever. He is. Which is why this mess isn't going to work.

Cant wait for JR to sign a sliding performance goalie who good times were 3 seasons ago. JR is great at those Jack Johnson type signings.

A under 900 sv percentage goalie is a risk not a value. Late first, suuurrrre.

funny, how many weeks did he have JJ in front of him as his 1LD due to injury...what 9?
gee I wonder why he started out hot with a save% over .920 and then he tanked. I wonder. I mean half the team being on IR and having to deal with crap like that, ppppppfffffffffffffftttttttttt had nothing to do with it.

Don’t see Dallas trading 2 C’s for a winger. Faksa could be in play, but if they targeted palmieri I’d think they’d offer more of the Faksa+prospect+pick route. I like palmieri, but not sure it’s what we need given the price.

The price is fine and I think Dallas should consider it. Although like you said idk about giving up 2 centres cause that leaves our 3rd line lacking. Maybe replace Dickinson for Janmark? I’d do that

If NJ would accept with Janmark, I’d think Dallas would happily make the deal. Problem is Janmark is a UFA, and mostly a depth fwd at this point in his career. Given where devils are, I’d think this falls short for the asset Palmieri is.

I agree. Just don’t think Dallas is interested in giving up 2 solid centres

Dallas trade doesn’t work for either side. NJ doesn’t need centers and Dallas can’t trade two. Faksa is not a winger. I also feel like any Palm trade that doesn’t involve a first round pick or a grade prospect coming back is a mistake for NJ. Cogliano can play 4LW and give you a strong locker room guy. Taking the salary back will help you get extra value as well. So Palm for Cogs, a first, and another prospect/pick would probably work
