Byfield is nowhere near NHL ready, He's still 1-2 years away from being NHL ready he needs another season or two of Juniors at least.

So the kings trade down from 2 to 5, add in around 35 overall from this year and the 20th overall pick from last year in order to dump Quicks 5.8 M over the next 3 years? Why would they care about cap space over that time frame? They have space right now and are most likely going to be a lottery team again for the next year or two. They should just keep the picks and prospects and let time take care of Quicks caphit. By the time any of they will need capspace to pay for there up and coming young players Quicks, Browns and Carters contracts will be done and they will have ample space.

This doesn't even take into account the team they are trading with is Ottawa who would not take on Quicks Salary in a million years even though they should.
