Theoretically this is if Van doesn't sign Tanev, I understand it. I hope it doesn't happen but I understand it fully.

I really don't think it's as bad or hard as it looks. If you determine that Sutter and Roussel have no value to Van and don't try to get too much back this money can work.

Edit: Ferland has to stay on LTIR to start next year and I still want to move Myers but that doesn't have to happen. Sutter, Roussel and Ferland is like 11 million off and you don't need that much to keep Toffoli and Virtanen. The leftover can pay Tanev and a few other guys the difference between old and new contracts.

I like to think of myself as an Olympic level competitor in cap gymnastics. If I can do it, JB can... i dunno, maybe not sign 5 free agents this time please?

Only our own all I can predict unless cheap d at worst. Depends on who he keeps.

uuughhhh on this from vancouvers point of view .. Rather see van trade for ristolinnen... sutter a prospect and a 3rd .. sutter is serviceable 3c .. if he stays healthy.. a area of extreme need for buffalo. either way i prefer to talk what buffalo would want from vancouver for a starting risto for sutter and what other parts...

from both teams prospectives . i think a risto trade for sutter pearson a prospect and a 3rd .. prospect jasek.. i think this trade works for BOTH teams buffalo gets a 3c and winger in pearson who can play up and down the lines a projected top 9 winger. and a pick .. van gets an upgrade over tanev.. hughes/myers or hughes / risto edler / myers or risto fantenburg/ stretcher/benn juolevi/ woo keep toffoli and still have cap space to play with

Sabres could use Sutter but not Risto & at that price.
Canuck D won’t be easy to improve & time is needed to shape up from within barring signing a top 2 D. Sutter to Buffalo in a smaller deal is better Imo. Find another taker if Risto has to be moved.

We don't want Risto for league minimum. I'd rather pay Fantenberg 2.5 mil for 3 years then pay Risto 5 bucks.
