NYR don't need LWers. Kapanen, Sandin, high picks would be of interest which is kinda why Dubas deviated to LA for Campbell.

but time is not on the rangers side. They need to move a goalie before next season and the Leafs are not in the same situation they were in then. Its all above leverage and the rangers no longer have it.

Rangers probably get a 2nd+3rd round pick for Georgiev's rights,Johnsson isn't worth anything more then a 3rd rounder at best. Simply not enough.

You can;t move Lundqvist (I don;t see a buyout) and I can't see them moving Shesterkin.
