If we trade our entire 3rd line, we can afford Piet but no longer have a 3rd line

that's one of the worst trades i've seen on here. change the 1st to two 3rds if the sharks even want them.

This team is worse than what they have now and there is still no cap space.

No thanks.

Sharks would likely be giving up a lottery pick, for..... Kerfoot and Dermott. Reaaaaallly bad.

Avs would say yes, good trade. You can probably ask for 2nd + 3rd.

Buffalo probably won't want to trade a high 2nd for AJ.

damn that's a weak bottom 6. the top 6 would have to play 45 mins a night at least to compensate for that

Although Toronto needs Pietrangelo, trading away the entire 3rd line wouldn't be wise. That bottom 6 would get eaten alive by deep teams.

The only realistic option for Toronto to sign Pietrangelo is if they move Nylander or Marner, with Marner being the logical choice. Nylander's contract is a lot better bang-for-buck. I think Colorado would push the boat out to get Nylander, he'd be a perfect fit on the Avs 2nd line.

If the Sharks can get a 1st for Barclay Goodrow, I'd like to think the Leafs can get a 1st and then some for Kerfoot and Dermott.

Another way would be to trade 3 of Dermott/Kerfoot/Kapanen/Johnsson/

I don't think it's realistic to have a bottom 6 as bad as the one in this AGM and still expect to compete in the playoffs. Elite teams like Boston and Tampa would put their elite defensive guys up against Toronto's top 2 lines, and then dominate with depth lines.

Alternatively if Toronto has the home-matchups advantage and put the top 2 lines against Boston/Tampa's 3rd and 4th lines, you'll have to deal with their scoring lines going up against this bottom 6, which is a much bigger difference in talent than Toronto's top lines against Bos/Tampa's depth lines.

Kerfoot for one 3rd but we have zero interest in Dermott.

Regardless of Pietro, the Leafs IMO are trading 2 of JOhnsson/Kapanen/Dermott/Kerfoot this offseason.

Robertson will replace Johnsson and you have Lehtonen for Dermott.

Trading 2 of them is a big difference from trading all 4 (as this AGM has done).

Sure.

Johnsson/kapanen + Dermott trade is possible, if the former is for pick(s)/prospects and Dermott's for a similar aged RHD
