Girard's value in the previous post was a typo! it should have said Girard + 3rd, I was editing on the fly and missed that. However Habs fans are not the only ones that overvalue their players. Byram has never played a game in the NHL in his life and is somehow worth Domi + 1st + Mete ++. I get he has the POTENTIAL to be an impact player but he IS NOT one to date. He could also become just another 1st round bust at the NHL level (unlikely but still could happen) and until he proves he can be an impact dman he will never be worth what Av's fans think/

what double standard? The guy is mocking the proposal, you think Redwings to downgrade Mantha to Domi and the 4th overall balances couple mid round picks? In what world does a rebuilding team ever consider such a thing. A rebuilding team would want exactly what he is saying, multiple young assets such as KK Caufiled etc for them to move pontially a franchise piece. They are not in the business of doing Montreal any favours.

And Avs fans are saying the same thing...we arent trading Byram, but if you want him, come with a kings ransom bc hes not for sale. They are also not in the business of doing Montreal favours giving them franchise level Top Pairing D prospects

Part 1 I agree that Mantha and 4th OVA is worth more than Domi 2 2nds and a 3rd but explain your reasoning and be helpful instead of condescending. Say it would probably take a deal more along the lines of Domi + Mete + Habs 2020 1st (top 3 protected) than the offer above. No one is asking for anyone to help out another team they are just looking for constructive feedback.

im not being condescending, its the facts of the concept, rebuilding teams are not in the business of taking unnecessary risks and looking for fair offers for their young pieces, they are rebuilding and at no point want to take lesser value in picks or added cap hit, age, etc without getting what they truly need, young prospects to build around their core with

Domi Mete and a protected pick? They have no interest in moving on from the 4th overall pick then. That doesnt do anything for them. Keep Mantha and draft Drysdale who will be better than Mete and they dont have to take the random risk associated with draft picks later in the top 10 to top 15

Detroit isn't trading Mantha so wouldn't the same thing you said about Byram being traded apply to Mantha? In fact Mantha said he want to sign a long term deal with Detroit.

After watching interviews and reactions to the lottery has brought that feeling back.

I mean, I knew it was a long shot to get 1OA but there was about a 50/50 shot at top 3 and I was really hoping for at least that. And then if dropping to 4 wasn’t painful enough, a “playoff team” getting Laf was just insult to injury!

Might work out in your favor though. not often can you say the top 5 of a draft is almost a lock to be impact players. I would love to see Jamie Drysdale on the Wings.

With Hronek and Seider already on the right side and Detroit having a lot of holes to fill I wouldn't draft Drysdale at #4. Plus 4-10 are all on about the same level talent wise. I think it Rossi, Raymond or Perfetti.
