This is some how the worst Marner trade you’ve done yet. Even tho every other Marner trade you make is crap.

Definitely not a contender. Too many young, unproven guys, in really high spots on this team. Use some of that cap space to sign some UFA's and then maybe you could build a contender. But their centre line up right now is awful. And the UFA pool this year can't really help with that.

I get Clarke is going to go 1OA and be amazing but he wont be ready. Same with Drysdale.

Too little experience at center. For that reason, I'd rather expose Jones or Terry than Henrique.

Corey Perry won't be playing in the NHL two seasons from now, and certainly not for Anaheim.

We will have improved our RD by then. No need for Ruhwedel and Brandt Clarke won't be ready.

Marner is everything that is right about being a hockey player. Sad day to read constant posts trading him always from the same CapFriendly GM.

I am currently doing a trade Marner series in which I look at teams that can acquire him over the next 2 seasons. You have to understand it’s not easy making these types of trades, it’s hard to get equivalent value.

I figured I could sign Nugent-Hopkins & Hamilton to short term deals so they mentor the young guys til they’re ready.

Well, there are many Leaf fans that want Marner gone. I felt it would be interesting to look at how he’d fit into other teams.

Leafs regard Nylander to a higher degree than Marner because of the contract.

Sure, Manson is nice, but probably not even worth a first. Literally no need for Desleurier. Guhle isn’t worth a first. About 2 firsts and a second, maybe less. Let’s no forget you’re retaining on Marner. I’d say add Hampus Lindholm and Trevor Zegras before the leafs even consider.
