Very interesting Allen trade. I’d take the Tuch trade IF it didn’t hurt our future cap situation

I can see that. Though he would act like a safety measure if one of their top gun rookies gets injured

Let’s trade Domi and Mete for a dman you’re sitting in the press box over Kulak and Jost who’s a bottom six player

Makes sense

The offer IMO should be Domi + Poehling for Girard + 3rd (we really don't need another middle or bottom 6 winger)

Thanks for pointing that out. Forgot to adjust line up. I wouldn't see Jost in the bottom 6 for long. I'm cure JC would find a nice spot for him

well if we're taking girard you'd have to change domi to suzuki.

We're not paying to give you Allen and take Lindgren, who has negative value to us. Allen for the WSH 3rd, and it's a deal.

Just flip him for picks once Byram or Timmins have proved themselves.

Why would Graves be sitting in the pressbox? You don't have any top 4 LHD's so he would easily make your roster.

Girard is more valuable than Byram right now.

The guy who made the post sit Graves in the press box, in my books Mete is better than Graves. Mete is better defensively and a way better skater, Graves bring more offense and seize. We need a good skater to play with Weber and a defensive player to play with Petry. Graves would be good on the 3rd pairing

Not sure where you get the idea that Graves is bad defensively. He's been phenomenal this season, and leads the league in +/-, 6th in the league in blocks, and plays 1st unit PK (which Mete does not).

The fact that he has a cannon of a shot and can jump up in the play doesn't detract from the fact that he's extremely stable defensively.

HB Analytics
@HBAnalytica
Defenseman player card: Ryan Graves
Graves is a rare talent in that he's an elite defensive defender with a fantastic shot. He's excellent at defending the blue line, but is considerably weak in the neutral zone and on the penalty-kill #GoAvsGo

I was looking yesterday at highlights goals and Graves was in a couple of them, and Zadorov was even worse. It’s small samples, but Mete is always in good position and have a good stick.

Size matters. Especially when you're 6'5'' and 225lbs AND you can skate. He's a very solid all-round Dman. Mete might be skillful but he'll never be an ideal fit on a 3rd pairing, and isn't quite good enough for a top 4 role on a contender. Habs fans know this, and it's why he gets included in trade proposals in most of the Montreal AGM's on this site.

Great discussion points! I think the fact that there is this much back and forth leads me to believe that these two players have enough value and could provide benefit to either team.

Allen doesn’t have negative value after being a Top 5 statistical goalie this year, cmon now.
