Red Wings Rebuild Hot takes warning

Description
This is a bold (boolllldddd) prediction of what Yzerman might do to the Wings this year to be a bit more competitive. While no new forwards are added, I think Erne and Perlini are either signed to a low-end deal or allowed to walk. Neither made a difference for the team night to night. I signed Merrill and called up Seider for the defense. Merrill might want to play for the hometown squad, especially if they can pay him a solid chunk of change. Seider is the big RD the team needs and will be looked at to take strides at the NHL level this year. I signed Greiss as the backup/tandem starter because none of Detroit's other goalies (besides Bernier of course) are NHL caliber and the Wings need a guy to act as a stopgap. The Mantha/Bert contracts might be a but on the lower side but there is no way they sign for more than Larkin imo. Let me know your thoughts.

A couple things Bertuzzi will make close to 5 and Mantha close to 6. Hirose should make around 1 million not 2.5. Givani Smith should be on the 4th line with Timashov. Seider should be kept away from this dumpster fire of a team and have Lindstrom in. Fabbri should be tried at center (what’s the worst that can happen) as I just threw up in my mouth thinking of Filppula as 2C.

I dont think anything here is really bold. They add a low end dman and a goalie and seider makes the team. Those are pretty much locks.

Seider will be up, I mean hes has no competition and he looks ready more importantly. Who knows about fabri at center, they were afraid to play AA there so idk what they think.

Idk, I'm pissed they didn't get 1st overall, I'd prefer Bertuzzi and Mantha signed for longer deals and really really hope they draft a center with the 4th overall pick, don't waste it on Drysdale.

Hirose, Timashov and Svechnikov have done **** all to get deals like, one or two year deals with lower aavs is what they should get, prefer a one or two year deal for Fabbri with a longer contract later if everything works out with him, hope it does, have always like Fabbri and think that injury really derailed him, hopefully he can get back on track with a team that could really use the help.

I like the Merrill signing, think he could be a quietly good depth signing for a lot of teams.
I think the Wings like many teams should sign Haula as a stop gap 2C till some prospects develop into the role, they really need to spend some cap space and try to be better next season, can't rebuild forever, **** sakes I wish they would of gotten Lafreniere!

That was also in part because AA couldn’t spell “defense”. Either way I wouldn’t mind playing Seider in Detroit if his partner was a vet like Nemeth. So my right side would look like Hronek, Seider, Lindstrom with Bowey as a scratch or playing LD.

If dekeyser could stay in the line up id like him with seider but thats asking alot. I think nemeth is a good choice unless they add a vet somewhere.

I wouldn’t mind kicking the tires on Edmundsson or Dillon either and think they’d be a good defensive pairing.

I doubt greiss signs there, but I would say Detroit should go after Talbot. He wasn't bad at all this season and he thinks he can be a starter somewhere, and idk where else but detroit (although bernier was decent this season)

Signing 34 year old Greiss to two years 4.25 will be disappointing.

I agree sign Mantha and Bertuzzi for as long as possible. In an interview with Mantha he said "I'm hoping to sign a long term deal with Detroit." There is zero chance Detroit lets Bertuzzi go. With Fabbri I'd like to see a 2yr deal. If they sign him to a 1yr deal it kind of like saying we want to make sure last year wasn't a fluke and then he bolts first chance he gets. When it comes to Drysdale I agree 100% mostly because Hronek and Seider both play the same side using a top 5 pick on a guy that would pencil in as a 3rd pair Dman. I like Rossi and I was against drafting another winger but the more I watch videos of Raymond the more I like him. Timashov has only played 5 games in Detroit I think he deserves a few more games at least before we write him off. Svechnikov was coming off of serious knee surgery and it's not only getting over it physically and sometimes it takes awhile to be able to trust that knee again. One last thing as a Wings fan I do appreciate the support.
