Not very "all in", if you ask me. Jets decline unhesitantly.

Not very interesting for Buffalo. I understand that Kahun played only six games for us, but I would rather save him, we do not have many good strikers.

It's a good offer for Laine. But knowing the Canes front office. They'd much rather target Ehlers...

i like how Canes fanes will do Necas + a top end D prospect + a 1st for Laine but wouldnt do Necas for Gaudreau 1 for 1. Yet Gaudreau is the better player.

You don't want Laine, he's a one trick pony they say.

I dunno. I saw a bit of a 2-way game from him this season. Granted it was not consistent but that's how young players are generally.

Ask yourself would you trade Svechnikov for that package. Because Laine's value is pretty close to that.

Agreed, he was better defensively and I saw some nice playmaking from him as well. Also you're the first person I've seen on CF to have more likes than posts, impressive!

Youre right, Gaudreau is better right now, but Laine is 4 years younger and a generational goal scorer. Teams are still willing to pay for what he might become opposed to Gaudreau who is who is he, which is a really good player, but maybe not 50-60 goals for the next 10 plus years

but that one trick is blasting the puck past goalies haha
Honestly, he's worked on the defensive side of his game this year and looked pretty good. He's still so young and can learn. Plus imagine if he had a legit C to play with all year

Yeah I know I was kidding, was a tongue in cheek reference to all the moronic "one trick pony"/ "he only has a good shot" comments that were on here last summer with the gawd awful Laine trades that were being proposed, quite a few from some Canes fans if I remember correctly.

While this is a decent offer I'd still be reluctant to trade Laine for this return.

It's also about the contract situation. Gaudreau is probably out the door in a couple years whereas Laine is an RFA and he's more likely to resign for a long term deal as he has his buddy Aho signed here for 5 years.

This always confuses me, everyone says, he's going to walk in 2 years. But like walk to where. Philly cant exactly afford him, Jersey can but I doubt he signs with the rivals of his favorite team growing up.
