presumably, Raymond is taken at #6 and Holtz at #8.

The question is, would we rather have Raymond and Holtz, or Raymond, Henrique and Rakell.

I think just asking the question answers it.

Now if Drysdale, Raymond and Holtz were all available when Anaheim picks at #6, so that one of the forwards would still be available at #8, then that's a much closer decision.

I don't think its a bad deal in terms of value, I just don't think it makes sense. The whole "chemistry" narrative between Raymond and Holtz doesn't add up when you consider they are both natural RWs, so competing for the same position, and don't play on the same team in the SHL. They literally only play together for Sweden and, even then, they're not on the same line.

Overall, LW just isn't a need for us and I wouldn't want to invest in two RWs like that (like Laine and Connor in WPG right now). As OldNYIfan says, if Drysdale + Raymond + Holtz were available, it might be worth considering as we could address the core weaknesses in our prospect pool in one go. However, I very much doubt Drysdale makes it past DET and OTT. In that case, I think it makes more sense for us to just draft one of Rossi or Raymond and to keep Rakell and Henrique as veteran leaders for the near-future.

It’s the term. Don’t love only getting 2 years. Will be 30 at UFA, that’s a bad contract waiting to happen if you extend
