Yeah I’d rather have 2 elite prospects than one. Like would you have traded Toews AND Kane for Crosby? Both Sedins for Marleau?

Wouldn't say anyone after Laf has a chance to be as good as Matthews. Itd be more like Marner/Eichel in the McDavid draft

Okay fair. So would you trade Eichel and Marner for McDavid? I’d say it might be fair value maaaaybe but I’d rather have the two

Lafreniere and Dach AND KANE! You're passing up on that!? Don't get me wrong Stuetzle is exactly what we need. He's super skilled and aggressive on the forecheck. However, you can't pass up on a guy that is getting compared to Crosby.

eh not the same. This would be the equivalent of trading Jack Johnson and Carey Price for Crosby, which I would do in a heartbeat. I would also take Kane over Turris and Alzner in a heartbeat. Comparing guys from different draft years doesnt work. If you want to go ahead and take 2 of the best guys from their respective years, I would still take Crosby over Kopitar and Oshie, as well as Kane over Pacioretty and JVR. Nobody is a sure thing in this draft, but Laf is as close as it can get to being a sure thing

It’s not the craziest thing to consider honestly. Having two elite prospects is hard to turn down. Yes, lafreniere is franchise caliber. The tier below is still elite though, and given the state of the Blackhawks right now, It’s hard to turn down.

This team needs elite, scoring forwards so bad. May sound ironic given the offensive talent of this team, but there is so much that goes through Kane and toews. Getting stutzle and Rossi adds a center/winger that is fast, versatile, and skilled and a center with amazing scoring prowess and skill respectively. Stutzle and Rossi combined potentially makes 1-2 punch at center. I’ll take that any day.

That all being said, if we got the chance at lafreniere, there wouldn’t be a wrong move. Either take him or get a king’s ransom for the pick. Then again, bowman is bowman....

Yeah absolutely, if Ottawa is smart and drafts Byfield and Rossi they'll be laughing. I think Drysdale will be good but won't be as impactful as others available at pick 5

Overall I do think the Sens are losing. BUT I also don't think the Hawks want that trade either. Its darn near impossible to get that kind of top end talent without winning the lottery.

Whoever gets Laf is keeping him. Sens have so many prospects and picks this year that they're the only team with a chance to move up, but no way they give both lottery picks. That would be stupid on their part

Murray for Lankinen, 4th

No. I doubt that they would trade DeSmith for Lankinen, 4th.

? How? I don't think there is one team that would give up #1 for both

Lafreniere is a Star, and the clear number one pick, but it's easily the better deal to have 3 and 5 imo. 3 is Stutzle or Byfield who are both future 1Cs, and there are still several players at 5 who are elite level prospects. Getting two players at that caliber is more valuable overall in my opinion, especially given Ottawa's lack of elite forward talent. Ottawa if more than just one star player away. They need both picks more.

You can't pick stars that have gone 3 and 5.. there are a thin of players at 3 and 5 that never did anything or weren't super stars. Draft is a crap shoot. I'm not saying I would do it bc laf is a stud.. I just really like stuetzle and fun to think about.

Murray will bring in much more than that.
