Description
Even with CoVID, the Sabres still missed the playoffs and Jack might walk if things don't improve (making the playoffs) for the upcoming season. Mostly RFA and UFA signings. It's confirmed that Lawrence Pilut has opted to play in the KHL. Some trades and other UFA pickups more for AHL purposes. Still not sure whether Puljujarvi will make it to North America for the season... 6th rounder may seem too low for Dobson but since neither he nor Jokiharju are left D, it would be hard to get them over and meaning one of the two would at best be a scratch if not getting the roster spot in the short term given most teams don't typically hold more than one defenseman as a scratch. Simmonds deal takes the money on a shorter term rather than a cut for longer and trying to position him for another team who wants him to take the short year bait to negotiate their own terms. Olofsson is difficult with depth by adding Reider who's brought in to get another year of development on Olofsson to be an even better winger to compete with Vesey for second line spot. Trying to leave cap room for mid-season and 2021-22 off-season.
