Description
Claude Julien will keep is 1st line together ( of course )
He will keep Domi-Byron together
That line with Drouin-KK-Armia have been good
Weal in the line up since CJ really likes him
Bergevin says he was happy with what he saw with Evans so he can replace Thompson. I would like to offer Thompson a contract tho
I think Romanov will get a shot in the top4, I could see Romanov-Weber Chiarot-Petry Mete-Juulsen too

The more balance would be Mete-Weber Romanov-Petry Chiarot-Juulsen

This is spot on. I do think Bergevin will make at least one move this offseason.

I agree with this, just would like to lock Domi up for 5 or 6 years, I get that players may take shorter contracts to get past this cap freeze but still like to see a longer one at 6 million or so.

It makes more sense from a Habs point of view to sign another 1 year prove it deal as well to ensure that last season was not a fluke. Personally I would like to lock Domi up long term as well cause next year if he plays well and hits 70+ again he will be looking for 8 Mil

Nicely done. I’d do a 2-3 year term on domi to prove it. Fear with only a one year is next season has a lot of questions surrounding it and if it’s the kind of mess this season is won’t get a true evaluation on him.

I agree with all that is said here. One thing that we musn't forget : pretty sure Bergevin didn't stockpile all those picks to stay put on his chair at the table, let alone the fact that the draft was taking place in Mtl.
So, logic would suggest that he intended to make a splash at the draft. Like packaging a B prospect and a couple of picks for a good, mid-20's, roster player. Or giving a 3rd and two 4th to pick a « Gars-de-chez-nous » late in the 2nd round...

DriveFor25, yes Bergevin will probably do one trade

Snow, I’m not sure. We might offer him a contract, will he sign it ?

Subbanator, 100% agree but rumors are Domi is looking for 8M on a long term contract

Campabee, I agree if Domi sign 6.5M or less on 6+ years

Timmah007, that’s is the worse idea, 1 year deal keep Domi RFA, 2-3 years he’ll hit the free agency and might lose him for nothing. 1 year deal or 5+

DirtyDangle, keep dreaming but I don’t think it will happen. We are set with Chiarot Mete Kulak Romanov for next year.

ColonelX I 100% agree, I would love Lehky-Nate-Evans and Weal 13th forward

Carlapin007, 100% agree

Yeah 8×6.5 would be my max too problem is if Domi and MB do a bridge deal and Domi puts up 70+ points again he may be looking for 8+ the next year so I would rather lock him up long term now at 6.5 Mil or trade before he signs that expensive contract

Again, rumors are saying Domi ask for a 8M long term contract. If they can’t come to an agreement on 7M- long term, the 1 year deal will occur

Mete: 1.95 xGA/60, 8.87 HDCA/60
Kulak: 1.95 xGA/60, 9.43 HDCA/60
Chiarot: 2.25 xGA/60, 12.66 HDCA/60

Chiarot can go ice the puck and be trash positionally on some other team.

Mete and Kulak on the 1st and 2nd pair, Chiarot on the third pair. Defensively he's not good enough for elite competition.

Winnipeg knew this, Montreal still has not realized it.

Winnipeg doesn’t had the cap space to keep him. Chiarot was better than Kulak and Mete, watch some games next year wink

I did watch and he looked like a third pairing guy playing 1st pair minutes. I went and looked up his metrics and as it turns out, he is a third pairing d-man playing 1st pair minutes.
