Description
I'm going to make a quick review of what I would do if I was Kings GM this offseason.
First off with the second overall pick I would choose Byfield. A big center is what all rebuilding teams are looking for and it's not going to be the exception this time. Usually first and second overall players go straight to the nhl, but I would let Byfield develop one more year since I've heard he might not be nhl-ready yet. He would come the season after right with Turcotte and they would be the future 1-2 center for L.A and Kopitar will be able the mentor them. Their no rush to push them straight in the league as the Kings are still rebuilding.

From all their rfa's the only worth giving big cash is Walker. He played really good last season and he could be on the second pair of defense. I also think Anderson-Dolan will establish himself as the 3rd liner next season. Clague deserves to be a full time nhler. Bjornfot is really close. But I think he should have one more season in Ontario. He's gonna be the first one to get called in case of a injury which is why I get him as a scratch.
Speaking of defense they'll likely be looking for a quality lhd. The more logical option would be Edmundsson. A big defenseman not flashy but get the job done I think he would be a good fit for L.A.

At the end of the season Quick played really good and I think with Petersen they could be a good 1a-1b duo in front of the net.

Let's not forget that they're still a rebuilding team so they're still holes in this lineup but the season after they'll get help from Byfield, Turcotte, Bjornfot and maybe some other guys. In two years Carter and Brown will become ufa and they'll likely won't get a offer from the Kings even though they were important elements for their last two cups. This will be the time the Kings will become contenders and should start spending big. Until then they need to continue the rebuild and develop their prospect who are one if not the deepest in the nhl right now.

Honestly i really see them taking Stutzle. German connection, the fact that they hadnt interviewed Byfield, a lot of mocks have Stutzle at 2. Stutzle is also more NHL ready than Byfield, i see a real case for them to take him.

I also heard Stutzle is more nhl-ready then Byfield, but L.A. should play the long game here. At 6'4" 215 pounds and almost 2 pts per game in the OHL Byfield is a interesting choice. If not Ottawa will be more then happy to take him. Plus you can always move a center at wing since the Kings have depth at this position. Whatever choice they made between those two the Kings have a really bright future in front of them.
