If a 5 game play-in series resembles playoff hockey (which it will), Jets will beat the Flames.

If it resembles early October hockey then I like the Flames.

Best chance for WPG to pick 1st is to hope the return to play falls through

About the same but Hamonic is a bigger guy who hits. DeMelo doesn't

Right but giving 4 years to a Hamonic who had a pretty big down year isn't a recipe for success at all. You could most likely sign a 3rd pairing d-man who does that for much cheaper than Hamonic while still bringing back DeMelo

Hamonic is a better option...esp being a Winnipegger...But it doesn't really matter...Hamonic or DeMelo...that top 9 is insane..esp with the 4th line playing shut down at Home against the top line of the other team....imagine Stastny's line playing the 3rd line and Eakins line playing the 4th line?? Wow

Really like Hamonic as a player and he seems like a good human you'd want on your team full of mostly young kids but DeMelo is three years younger, I'd much rather the Jets sign DeMelo for that reason.

Pond hockey with refs calling it tight, so live and die with tender and special teams is my prediction for hockey in August.

I just wonder the home town discount, definitely wouldn’t overpay or overterm hamonic. Demelo looked good in a small sample size I wonder if one would end up in Seattle if jets find a way to add both. There has to be someone better than stasny to add at 2c isn’t there? I would look at the mtl package for lafreniere or the Ottawa rumor of 3/5 for 1, some awefully tempting packages I bet.

Do a Ehlers and a first for Heicsher next year...Stastny is good enough to play this year

I think the laine trade coming, obviously depending on ask, but I think he will be dealt two years out from being a ufa over the summer before, but that’s a lot of speculation if he’s still after the 10 per, that’s why I would wonder if lafreniere and laine would play on the same squad over a season. But a ton of speculation at this point, I’m hoping for a playoff run, got them for a bottle for opening round and 40 to 1 for cup.

I agree. DeMelo should be our clear first option and I truly think that we WILL be able to sign him. If by chance we can't, then I don't mind going after Hamonic on a team-friendly deal (which I think he would take since he is from Manitoba).

If Jets win #1 and OTT offers 3/5 for 1 I say yes. Only way I wouldn't is if there is a deal to be made with Laine for a top4 RHD and a top C prospect. Picking at 3 and 5 you get Drysdale and Perfetti or Rossi.

I just wonder if there is a Suzuki/kotaniemi with a Romanov/brook along with a couple top 3 protected firsts, from mtl, or more for lafreniere

Well I guess they could add both but I'm sure Hamonic will want trade protection to keep him here and not Seattle bound, he'll want to remain close to
Lake of the Woods and I'd hate to see DeMelo lost in the expansion draft, I wonder too if one of Gawanke or Kovacevic isn't pushing for a top 4 job in a couple years.

Well I'm of the opinion that the Jets need to stop paying Vegas for their cap dumps and I like Stastny but he chose the Knights so **** em he can stay there or Vegas can compensate the Jets to take him if they want to move him to sign Lehner or improve their defense or whatever, this guy already cost us Armia, a 1st round pick that turned into Sandin and now we're gonna throw more assets away for him as a 34 year old UFA, I say **** that noise, there's other options out there.

Really think Ehlers and Laine are mature enough now as players to make a line work with almost whoever, might work with Little this time around should he return, they just need someone with more offensive ability then Copp.

What's the Montreal package you're talking about?
If the Jets land Lafreniere I think inquiring about Eichel is what Chevy should do.

Eichel would be awefully tempting for sure, I wonder if he would sulk or try to play his way out of wpg, but damn there wouldn’t be a hole left with that add, I was thinking mtl would come up with a healthy package for a French Canadian superstar. With mtl having a few guys playing in the league exempt from expansion draft would intrigue me, Suzuki/brook and a couple firsts somewhat protected top 3 possibly. Or maybe kotaniemi/Romanov and similar firsts, I’m not sure what going rate would be

100 percent on Vegas, we still owe them a playoff beating and not going to do it with there cast offs, Mcnabb playing angry in wpg I wouldn’t mind and getting paid to take the 6.5 stasny I would get over, but both done cheap.

Fun fact: The Jets 1st they swapped to Vegas turned into Suzuki...
Fun fact #2: The Jets 1st they swapped for Stastny turned into Sandin...

How would those guys look in Jets jerseys?!.. Lol

Well if it's me and we landed Lafreniere and Montreal was really wanting him I'd push for a long term extended Domi plus a couple more good pieces, what those pieces would be I have no idea, Domi would have to be protected though but I don't see an issue with that, really shouldn't get hung up on losing an Andrew Copp type player, yeah he's a good utility guy but he really shouldn't be that hard to replace and Gustafsson is coming up so not a huge loss if Copp goes to Seattle imo.

I really don't know what Montreal would give for Lafreniere, I would think quite a bit but I really don't know, those players you mentioned are their prized assets, don't know if they'd part with them even for Lafreniere.

damn sandin and Suzuki basically what the jets need right now, possibly a rhd sandin, but pretty much what is needed in my opinion. Depends on playin round for mtl this year, if they give pit a series and look close, they may not sell the farm for lafreniere, but if they get smoked I could see a serious large package being offered for a hope of a French Canadian superstar

I would be curious about this as well. Suzuki fills our 2c need and some picks would be great too. Idk i just get nervous about the idea of moving laff. HE's going to be insane and to think about trading him and then seeing him be a superstar is what scares me.

I wonder if it’s a wait a season, and figure out what laine is turning into and what’s the contract looking like, and possibly he’s the one to move for assets over lafreniere, or keep both and earmark little or wheeler money for future lafreniere contract. But damn that’s a ways away lol. I hope for some rounds maybe a Cinderella run to cup. Going to be interesting what kind of hockey we get in August
