Flames fan here, I really don't think Bennett costs you that. I think the Flames would prefer to dump him for a pick and keep the cap space, but taking Hickey back as a bottom pairing option probably works for them given the cap numbers balance. I bet you the Flames would laugh all the way to the bank for a 2nd, so two picks and two roster players, even bad ones feels like an overpay.

Abdelkader had better stats over the last 2 seasons and he was awful last season. You are going to have to pay to move Ladd.
