Mtl stays away from the pool party trade. I think he is worth a second, not both highest end seconds though

I think MTL has to add for Brodin. Top 10 trustworthy dman in the league. The Puljajarvi trade is a mistake, I think he doesn't fit MTL, lot of talent no heart type of players doesn't work in MTL and I would not give those two pick for a big risk. Signing Kovy at that price is also bad and Kudhobin will either stay in Dallas or sign a much better contract than this elsewhere. He's one of the most if not the most consistent backup.

    Only a couple differences here
    1. Minnesota needs young centers more the MTL needs LHD
    2. Domi is younger
    3. Domi is negotiating as a RFA where Brodin will be a UFA
    4. Center is the most valuable position.

All signs point to Domi being more valuable

Yeah but you forgot the more important thing: consistancy. Brodin is a defensive stud since entering the NHL. He doesn't put up much points but he skates like hell and he moves the puck quickly. Domi is a center only since 2 years and while playing at this position allows him to be more dangerous offensively, he does not fill well the responsabilites of a true center. Poor faceoff %, turnover machine and poor defensive coverage. I like him, he's spectacular and he can be amazing but he also can cost you some bad goals plus he had 1 really great season. 2 completely different player but I think Brodin is better at what he does than Domi. In my mind MTL adds but not by a lot, maybe a 2nd and a mysterious center prospect like Hillis/Olofsson/Ikonen.

All very valid points, but still not enough to close the very large gap between the two players.
