I think Seabrook takes the cake for worst contract currently and going forward the next 2-3 years. Can't buy him out and at best he's a #5D. At least with Price he is a starting goaltender who has flashes of elite ability.

Seabrook might be the worst for this single season but Price with 4 years left on his deal like Seabrook will be owed 42 million and won't even be on the ice every night

goalies are weird, id still take carey into battle for a 7 game series anyday of the week, hes probbaly overpaid but at the time he deserved to be the highest paid, carey price is the only reason montreal hasnt been a bottom 5 team for the last 8-10 years, skinner, doughty, subban are all worse contracts

Price basically got the same contract as Lundqvist did at the same age, so for now, yes, but is he stays average/elite like Henrik did for the later years then it will pay off when the kids develop

It's clearly the worst contract in the NHL at the moment if we don't count; Skinner, Vlasic, Seabrook, Doughty and Okposo. Those contracts don't have as much AAV or length -at this time- as Price but I'd much rather give Price 10.5M$ than Skinner 9M$. I'd add Weber's contract but more as if he's retiring before the end of it and the cap retention that Preds will have if he does, performance wise he's still good enough to warrant that money.

Yes the AAV is considerable and performances are not as consistent as you'd like but he still gives you elite goaltending at times and is still respected everywhere throughout the league as being one of the best (Basically the league agrees that the defensive unit is more of an issue than the goaltender himself).
