I’m just extremely confused on how Max Letunov, who projects somewhere as a bottom 6 NHL forward, lands you Subban and Zacha?

I'd rather have the picks in this deep draft than Labanc.

I don’t see how any of these deals work to be real honest with you.

NSH pass - why trade Tomasino + a 2020 1st & 2nd in a deep draft for Hertl when you can just sign a comparable player in free agency and keep all of those assets? That, plus the fact that he is two years from free agency and has an injury history, would make me move on from this trade. Having to sign Hertl + Forsberg in the same off-season would not be fun and NSH would likely have to let one of them go.

SJ decides to rebuild and you don't approach the Sabres? How dare you.

NJ has the most cap space in the league, they're not that desperate to get rid of Subban's contract

Honestly, Hoffman is comparable in point production but produces more goals, which is what NSH needs. If NSH signs Hoffman, I'd rather have Tomasino + Hoffman + 1st + 2nd than two years of Hertl.

Nope. Even if they did my point still stands, NJ isn't in a hurry to lose that contract / give up assets to do so.

that's fair, but Hertl>>>Hoffman

younger and will be on a better contract, but yes, I understand keeping those assets is important

He's probably assuming PK Subban is a minus who the Devils want to get rid of

Hertl is a better Center than any other player going to FA...by miles. Better than Granlund, Haula, Ennis etc.

Granlund isn't a center -- and NSH doesn't need another center with Johansen, Duchene, Turris, Bonino, Sissons, Jarnkrok, etc. already on the team.

i assumed that but it's not like subban expires in 5 years, he expires in 2 lol they can afford to wait it out. besides, they may want to see if he can bounce back in some way next season because the season he had this year is inexcusable
