It's pretty clear you haven't watched him play the past two seasons

I can't see the rangers moving one strome to get the other. say what you will about Ryan, but he was great with Panarin. Why give up so much for essentially the same idea of a player. Why would Rangers take that package for Ryan and then give that up for Dylan? Why is Dylan having a breakout year playing with Patrick Kane so different than Ryan having a breakout year playing with Artemi Panarin?
Basically the Rangers could re-up with Ryan and not give up 2 huge assets. These trades are interesting and not terrible alone, but together make 0 sense

38 points in 58 games this year and thats without kane on his wing I want to add. .66 points per game. Over an 82 game season thats 54 points. The year before he had 51 in 58. .88 ppg or 72 over an 82 game season and thats with kane on his wing. He produced at a 1st liner level with kane and a second liner level without him. Sure Strome regressed points wise, but he still put up 2C numbers and he had those two seasons at only 22 and 23 years old. To say "Strome sucks" shows you clearly didn't watch and just looked at the stats. So yeah his point totals went down, but he didn't play with the best american to ever play the game on his right wing. Kane will elevate anyones numbers. Strome showed he's more than capeable of being a 2C in this league and can still produce without superstars next to him. He's only 23, and still has to potential to be a lot better and will still be cheap for a few more years. The hawks absolutly should not move him unless they get an offer they can't refuse. Cheap young 2C's don't grow on trees, but this offer is pretty tempting

All that makes complete sense. I just wanted to add that Strome didn't play with kane much this past season and was still on pace for 55ish points. Thats definetly not the 72 points he was on pace for last year, but he did prove that he can do it without Kane in my opinion. Not sure ryan has proved that yet (and i'm not saying he can't)

Strome was in Colliton's doghouse and was moved to the wing in favor of David Kampf because Strome and Debrincat weren't lighting it up to the same degree they did last season. On the wing, Strome produced less. When he was moved back to center and given more ice time, he started producing again.

While I think Strome's ceiling is higher than Buch's, I still don't see the reasoning for the Rangers to make this move, especially since they're moving a solid backup G and a 2nd.

I’m torn on Ryan Strome. His defensive impacts are still pretty terrible and Panarin carried him last year. That being said he would probably be cheap to acquire, can sign a 2 year deal to bridge Cozens to be 2C. Can trade Risto and Montour for help on the wing to improve the F geoup
