Absolutely not. Even with Lafreniere next year, the Sens won't be good next year, so that pick is almost certainly a lottery pick. I'd probably rather a crack at one of those awesome Dmen next year anyway.

Most I'd be willing to offer would be 5th +15th +33rd + Logan Brown + Tierney/Duclair.

Even that is an insane price that I don't feel good about. I think it makes more sense to just draft where they are.

so #1 overall for #3, #15, and a mystery 2021 pick. I think the sens should do that.

The mystery effect of next year's pick is why it'd be intriguing for the Rangers. Almost like entering a lottery after winning the lottery lol.

Only reason I'm asking is because the Rangers need a center BADLY. I've wanted Byfield for the longest time and of course I wouldn't complain if we win the first overall pick but it'd be really unfortunate to be able to pick a center but pick a winter instead because he's a "can't pass up" prospect. I know Ottawa fans were disappointed when they missed out on 1OA last week so wanted to gauge how the fan base would feel about trading 3 but NOT 5 (most proposals for OTT moving up include both 3 and 5 OA).

I like the majority of pieces in your counter offer, however I'd do it for 3rd in place of 5th and take out one of the players. So 3rd + 15th + Logan Brown. Gives us center depth (Byfield + Brown could be 2C and 3C) and you get Lafreniere while still getting a center on a very slightly lower tier in Rossi or Perfetti.

Definitely not with the 2021 pick.

5th, nyi 1st plus a prospect, I'd think about it. There's going to be a good player available between 14 and 21. It's a tough call

I know GMs would never make their picks unconditional, but it's still intriguing to me if the 2021 pick were top 10 protected. I wonder if Ottawa would be back in the situation they had with the Brady Tkachuk/Cale Makar drafts, using it in 2021 and then losing it to the Rangers in 2022. Imagine that pick wins first overall in 2022 and the Rangers come away having drafted Byfield and a guy like Lapierre in 2020 and then Shane Wright in 2022, all with Ottawa's picks.

Would you do 3rd + NYI pick + Logan Brown?

I wouldn't do this, Senators will probably send most of there prospects liek Byfield and Drysdale back to Junior next year because they aren't gong to be a playoff team. They will most likely attempt to get another Lottery or 4-6 overall pick, so they won't want to trade their first away.

That's great that most proposals include 3 and 5. But that's wishful thinking to me. I, and I hope dorion, would never do 3 and 5 for 1st.

As for 3rd, nyi and brown. It's still something to think about. I'd feel more comfortable if lias Anderson was included.

I think 3rd OA is a non starter for me. I think given Ottawa's lack of an elite center, passing up on Stutzle or Byfield for an LW, even one as good as Lafreniere just doesn't make sense. Even if Lafreniere is the best player, I think one of those two Cs would be more impactful to Ottawa than Lafreniere, Especially if they get Byfield.

Ultimately I hope Ottawa just keeps their picks. I think the Quality of guys like Raymond Rossi and Perfetti is high enough that it doesn't make a lot of sense to pay the huge price tag to move up from 5 to 1.
