Then mights as well take off Weber, Price, Letang, Crosby, and probably Stammer while we are at it

I agree with taking off Weber and probably Letang. Price is bad so he shouldnt even be here in the first place. Everyone else is younger and I think will still be very good players in 2 years

The other point is, Bergys style of play isnt based so much on agility, speed, or strength (which is what generally declines with age), he is so good because he is aware, smart, and controled (which get better with age). Im not saying he is going to be better or even the same as now. But compared to a Crosby, Stamkos, or those three guys, Bergy is the most likely to be the same

I agree his style of play usually ages better than most, but he will still be 36. He is going to keep getting slower and you cant keep playing forever. Crosby is 2 years younger and Stamkos is nearly 5 years younger. Thats a huge difference

Bergeron was a tough cut, but the reason Weber and Letang both made it and Bergeron did not, is simply because Canada has way better forwards than they do defenders. In other words, Bergeron is more expendable simply because Canada is so deep when it comes to offense.
