Quick has one year less on his contract. He is also better than Jones, putting up a 2.27 GAA and .923 SV% in 2020. He's also a local favorite, unlike Jones, who burned some bridges in LA by holding out on not one, but two RFA contracts, causing them to have to trade him for less than they could have gotten.

Why would LA go for this?

Ok can we just talk about how ****ty that Simek deal is? Stupid ****ing signing by Doug. I hope Simmer proves me wrong, but that's an awful contract.
