Description
Koskinen deal is a quick sacrifice to get holtby. Not many deals out there to take on the full contract. Kenny bites the bullet. Sure he could snag a better prospect. Hirose?
$2.3 coming off buyouts, $2 from smith and and $4 from Russell. $8.3M, both Russell and smith replaced with minor contracts. Rest of the money goes to nuge, yam, benson, and i guess larsson. I say you leave him open in the Seattle expansion to shed some salary in a position you can afford to lose with young d coming up that would be 100% ready by then.
Puljujarvi trade is as much as I would pay for him. I think I’m a little into the overpay area. Originally had a 5th pick going to edm instead of the 3rd. Bust still something NJ should really look at.
Kahari deal could probably use a 5th at least instead of a 6th. I like him I think he will be around for a while.
Boqvist and wood are good trade bait in the next few years. Even ennis, Kassia guys like that, they will have to make some moves as the cap crunch get real fast. Can get through next year but the year after is a bit scary.

I don't understand the Edm/NJ trade.

Braden Holtby is happy. That's ~3 years and ~3+ mil more a year than he can expect....

Risky giving him that much for sure. I don’t think he’s dead yet. A one year deal may be a good idea. By ya if you can get him at 3 and 3! Wow that would be nice

Way too much for ennis
Way too little for Bear
Mantha is never playing again
The Benning deal makes no sense

The NJ trade doesn’t make any sense, why would NJ do that? Why does Detroit trade for a 31 year old goalie with this FA market?

Ok, I doubt it if we get that kind of return for Puljujarvi especially that we are dumping Neal. Not the biggest fan of Holtby, but he isn’t terrible. Also not a fan of your lines at all.

I think 2.85M is fine for 2 year Bear contract. He was good but still lacks games played Nurse got 3.2Mx2 had had 200+ NHL games played, Bear is at 89.

I think Buffalo takes that deal. I think you should be able to get more for this player though. Maybe a late round pick 5th or 6th

bufallo does the deal only if they cap
I know that some people called koski overpaid but I would rather have him over holtby
do caps really need khaira
devils only accept if you put mcjesus in the package too
way too much term for benning
mantha's hockey career is done
signing vesey is a waste of a contract space
poolparty probably won't resign

That Neal contract is worth a 1st or 2+ itself. At the very least, the 2022 1st needs to come off. I'd also like to see Boqvist come off too, but I can deny being biased.

Honestly don’t know mantha thought he was just an ahler for them
I like Benning and think he could be a bottom pairing d for a long time. Could probably go a bit cheaper but I like paying lower players too. Ennis lit it up kinda want to see him do it again before a deal like this. So ya I agree give a one year and see what’s up

This is assuming no one signs with Detroit. And they get lucky here because they simply need a filler with bernier.
Just the thought of Puljujärvi playing with the devils got me going. I think he would fit right in there. And he would be able to play top 6 minutes

So what are u thinking here?:
Wood
22 3rd
For
Puljujärvi
Neal
21 3rd

Looking at it now and realizing that Neal would cost a 1st to get out of town that trade is quite wank. But I still feel edm should get something back out of draft picks? Puljujärvi will be no slouch when he comes back.
Boqvist, wood, (21 3rd ARZ)
Puljujärvi, Neal (21 6th PIT)

Just think about the revenue on jerseys. Cup winner. Instense guy. That’s what your paying for. Would be nice to have both. If holtby is only fetching $3M lol. Then edm can make that work by not signing Benning, cheaper ennis maybe no miles wood. Interesting though, somebody will offer holtby $4.

Although I get your point,

He’s a playoff performer but struggles in the regular season.

Edmonton isn’t the powerhouse he’d be used to like in WSH.

I think it’s better to stick with koskinen, who, hasn’t proven anything in the playoffs yet, is cheaper and has better regular season stats.
