McNabb isn't worth a 2nd.

Think it's in the ballpark. McNabb is decent bottom-4 defensive D with an affordable contract.

Think of what Määttä got in return for instance. Kahun+5th. Imo McNabb is an upgrade over that as he's pretty much as good but just cheaper.

They do but a 30yr old for a 2nd round pick is too much.

Maatta is awful he got benched after 1 playoff gamed Jack Johnson was the player that took spot from him.

Määttä is ok. Just a bit too slow.

And 5 years younger than McNabb.

MAF is on the wrong side of the 35 year old cliff.

Its going to take a ton to move that contract

To be fair, McNabb would get you a 2nd from a playoff team, the value is right, just Detroit is rebuilding so it doesn't make sense for them to give that pick up for this player. But any playoff team would do this deal, Martinez and Dillon both got 2nds and are comparable to McNabb.

Jets aren't giving up Lowry and a 3rd for a "cap dump". I'm not saying Stastny isn't good or doesn't have any value. But for Vegas, his cap needs to be moved, I'm sure WPG would be okay to take him, you're just probably going to have to give something up, just like any other cap dump. IT might not be a lot to move him, but the Jets definitely shouldn't be moving a 3rd and Lowry for Stastny. Try Lowry and a 6th for Stastny + a 2nd or prospect in equal value. @MisstheWhalers I need your help on value!!! Also you'd be happy to see who he packaged for Stastny

With one year left on each player's contract, I think Stastny holds more value.

At the very least he can do something on the offensive end.

Partly retained the cost of him isn't breaking the bank. VGK is not in position where they must pay to move that contract.

Both canes goalies were better than him and cost the same. To make it worse MAF’s are expected to plummet those last two years. Its going to take a lot.

I personally think that a 40 point rental C at $5M can land a 3rd.

That is true, but wpg was in need of a depth player so makes sense. I just don’t see stastny Landjng a lot with that cap hit

Honestly if Stastny can be as good 2C for the Jets as he was couple of years ago, getting him at $5M for a 3rd is pretty cheap in itself.
