Over-payments for everything because we can

Created by: senators55
Team: 2020-21 Ottawa Senators
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 2, 2020
Published: Jul. 2, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Crazy Idea Right! At this TDL, move out Zub, Hawryluk, and Peca for Picks (and to make room for Formenton and Abramov). Next TDL, move out Boroweicki and Jaros for Picks (and to make room for Bernard-Docker and Lassi Thompson). Then reassess to see if Brown/Duclair/Lehner are still a fit by year 3 TDL. Waiting for: Abramov, Pinto, Guhle, and Soogard/Daccord to develop in this 3 year plan.

Tampa says no. They cant afford the 6.8 million in Nilsson and Anisimov. They'd end up having to shed even more cap to get Sergachev and Cernak under contract.

I think they would say yes and just flip one of them for picks, seeing as they get Brannstom, Chlapik, a 2nd, 6th, and 7th in the deal and probably can't afford Cirelli anyway.

I actually think Ottawa wouldn’t do that Tampa trade.
Brännström I could see Ottawa having more value in. I love targeting Ekblad but I think it’s a season too soon to pull that trigger best to spend a year with the collection of youthful assets and see what really have before pulling out a blockbuster like that

There isnt a single interesting asset for the flyers in that trade. Four AHLers or fringe NHLers and late round picks for an actually good defenseman?

The team has plenty of depth/fringe players. Not interested in quantity of garbage for real player.
