Still no

I dont think you understand that everyone is saying 5Oa + 3OA doesn't equal 1OA and you still kept White in

I do agree that having white in here doesn’t work, but I think we’re close in value for 3&5. I know Ottawa isn’t desperate for lafreniere so it’s likely that they decline this even if White isn’t involved.

both say no..

in OTT's case their rebuilding so they need more pieces to fill their roster
but WPG prefers quality because we already have our core and just want to get the best player possible

So this is all about the jets getting the #1 pick and trading it for the 3rd and 5th?
Definitely a good conversation to start, but IMO, Laf is gonna be a superstar and should not be dealt, but for argument sake I kinda like the deal for the jets (the 1OA for 3 and 5 OA deal not the one above)
Jets have elite talent on the wings with Laine, Wheeler, Ehlers and Connor and Chevvy has spent years trying to find a 2C and the jets need a RD to come up through the system. If they made this deal they would get one of Byfield or Stutzle (heard rumours that LAK are high on Stutzle) and Drysdale with those picks. Man...that's a tough call

My thought. OTT fans don't like the thought of giving up these two picks is the thing.

White > Roslovic
3+5>>>1

I don't really agree so much and here's my argument.
White has been better than Roslovic statistically but on a terrible team who's owner wants them to lose. Roslovic has played up and down the lineup on a contending team and at times has shown he's gonna be a really good NHLer.
I made the argument for 1 being greater than 3 and 5 above, but Im not sure at all. getting 2 guys out of the top 5 in this draft is an amazing add to a rebuilding team, but having a French Canadian superstar at number one could be immeasurable for a franchise. It's a tough call, but fun to discuss. As a jets can I just hope this can legit be discussed unless they win the cup

I really don't get the argument you're making. White playing better on a worse team is an even bigger suggestion to me that he's the better player.

For me there's just no contest over which is better. At 3, the sens are guaranteed one of two elite 1C prospects, and then another elite play driving forward or a top pair RD. As good a Lafreniere is, he's only one player and he's a winger. I think the reason so many fans want their team to make this kind of Deal rather than picking 1st overall, is because they realize there's a limit to how much Lafreniere will be able to impact the game compared to a play driving 1C like Byfield/Stutzle AND another elite forward.

The argument is that Roslovic doesn't get the same opportunity as White based on the talent the jets have and the talent the sens don't. White was playing on the top line and top PP minutes. Where as Roslovic was on the 3rd line for the most part (time on the 2nd and 4th) and playing sparingly on the 2nd PP unit. For a team like OTT who is basically tanking, someone has to be on the ice and that someone will put up points.
