I'm good with this for the most part but I think if this were the case Wild have to look to move Greenway.

I'd love it if Minnesota got him. They really need that kind of a break to end the seemingly everlasting mediocrity they have had for basically 2 decades.

Still think we should try to get a better center using one of our defenseman, but winning Lafreniere would solve a lot of scoring issues for us. I don't love the Toffoli signing since that would likely be Kaprizov's spot in our top 6 once he came over, assuming he signs a 1 year KHL deal as you have here.

100% agree. I really wanted to have Greenway figure it out here in Minnesota but if we lucked out with Laffy, he becomes a 3rd line winger at best with us. I'd say move him as well in this scenario.

The most recent word is that Minnesota may be able to sign him for 2019/20, but he'd be ineligible to play against Vancouver. He could practice with the team and live in Minnesota since he'd finally have a work visa to come over, so he's ready to start in 2020/21 whenever training camp for that season starts. Sounds stupid, but with a delayed 2020/21 season, he'd probably stay in the KHL for a year as you've suggested and then he'd be signing a 1 year ELC at 24 anyhow so "wasting" a year to have him here now actually makes sense. It gives them next year to see what he is and then get him signed long-term if he pans out.

Given that Fiala didn't find traction with the team until BB moved him to RW to play opposite Parise, and then found dominance while playing the right side. I tend to view Fiala as a LHS RW'er same as Zuccarello and how Kaprizov prefers the right side too.

So Toffoli would or at least should play LW.

It all depends with the ongoing negotiations between the NHL and the NHLPA. They are still going over all the options but if Kaprizov doesn't sign this summer, he may return to Russia for another year due to their season projecting to start on time and ours won't be until likely January. There's a lot more to it and it's extremely complicated but yes Wild fans like myself are very worried

@TanSor There are a few scenarios at play regarding him possibly still signing this summer. Not sure if you subscribe to the Athletic but Russo reported that there might be an option to sign him but make him ineligible to play. So that way he can practice with the team, get to know the other players, and the Wild will get him under contract. I hope that is the solution they go with but that's not agreed upon yet either.
