Description
STL really doesn’t have much cap space. If they match, whatever, no risk for us. I they don’t match, we take a huge W. I don’t see how this would affect us negatively.

big flaw in your plan, why would Dunn sign it in the first place.
Girard signed him 7year 5maav extension coming off a 23 point season. Dunn has simliar points in less games when girard signed that. Why would he ask for a lesser contract which he signs as an offersheet.

If you are goign to get him out of St Louis you are going to have to present an offsersheet beyond his market value and thats beyond 5m range

I agree totally, and I also believe the thought process is right on here. We should target Dunn for sure but as you say the offer sheet is probably going to need to be 5.75 million per year on a 5 year deal. If they match they match if they don't we get a great young LD to play in out top pair right away not 2,3 or even 4 years from now.

targeting Dunn is a good move, but like the Tampa guys, its goign to be hard to convince them to sign offsheets to leave cup contending teams. You are really going to have to over pay to get them to sign it since Teams if they know they cant make the cap work to sign them will trade them before those offer sheets chances roll in. They still want to compete now and are going to take guys on their ELCs vs future draft picks in massive overpayment offserheets.

Most guys wont really care about 500k-1m in a bump of aav in a salary of an offersheet to leave for a chance of winning the cup. But if you are talking about making 10m-12m over a long term deal, then you might catch their interest

Trading for him is far more likely than offersheeting Dunn IMO

Delusional Hab fans thinking that every RFA, Will sign an offer sheet from Montreal. What a joke offer sheets are rarely used and rarely work.

I also agree with the trade idea vs an offer sheet.

Habs can trade and play with the fact that the Blues have cap issues. Gotta stop it with the offer sheets. Although I would like if there were more around the league. One every 9 years is boring.
