I just have a hard time believing Domi is worth 8th overall. I’m willing to trade the 2021 first but not this years. Lundell who I think will be around at 8th overall will probably be better than Domi in a couple years.

Its what it would though for St Louis to 1 not be able to match and 2 consider it an overpayment and let him go which was the objective

The key here wasn't is Domi worth 8th OVA cause your probably right on his own not likely but is Domi + Mete + Miller's cap dump worth more than 8th OVA + Hutton. I believe it is

Miller is fine he played well with Dahlin. Montour or Ristolainen will be available for trades. Sure Mete will add depth to a very thin left side, but still I don’t think it’s enough.

I figured a Montreal fan could at least spell his name right considering he is French Canadian. It's Lafreniere you left out an e.

I think I make this deal if I am the Sabres. Domi is a quality player that would be under team control ideally for several more years. I agree the upside on a player drafted at 8 o/a is higher, but this team needs to get better now and it is not like Domi only has a couple of good years left. I know this is a highly touted first round but if you look back the Sabres have drafted 8th 4 times and not one of those players has gone on to be better than Domi. Also just look back at 8 o/a over the past 20 years and only 3 or 4 of the players drafted there are better than Domi. So there is a good chance you may end up with a player that is worse and you will have to wait at least 2 or 3 years to learn this

Hutton is the dump. Miller is a solid #5 and can play top-4 sparingly.

It was meant to be funny and not malicious. So if I offended you I'm sorry! My spelling is atrocious and without spellcheck you probably wouldn't be able to understand my posts.

To me it’s not really about whether or not Domi or any other player for that matter is really worth the 8th pick. It’s all about the owners & new GM and how bad they want to win. That 8th pick probably doesn’t make an impact for 2-3 years, if you want to please your star and try and finally make the playoffs moving that pick for an impact player is the right move even if you may be over paying.
