Value is good both ways,
I don’t see mtl making this deal due to the fact that MB still has contention in his head.

Tbh I don't understand this willingness to trade Reinhart to begin with. It's so hard finding good top 6 players, also it was my understanding that BUF were trying to improve in this area not take away from it. Might as well just sign the guy you know can produce instead of looking for magic beans imo.

Would be the best winger Buffalo has, or their 2nd line centre

Agreed for sure. But if I were running them I’d make one move for the near future because that young core is pretty good.

Finally, a trade of #8 that makes sense for Buffalo.

Lindholm isn't coming for that.

De Melo isn't getting less than $3.25 million, and maybe quite a bit more. But I doubt that Hutton gets more than $2.5 million. We'll see -- it's all conjecture at this point!

Ok then why aren’t you calling out your fellow CGY fan who said that Lindholm can only be moved for Jack?

Use a little interpretation. It wouldn’t be one for one.

Calgary doesn’t have the pieces to get Jack anyway. Calgary has great pieces, don’t get me wrong, but nothing that Buffalo would want for Eichel. The only thing that would make sense coming back is another superstar 1C, but then why make a trade?

The second Buffalo decides to trade Eichel, it doesn't matter who they're trading him to. There's zero chance they are winning an Eichel deal because in a cap world you will never get full value for him. It will be loads of futures and younger players. In reality he's probably worth Point, Cirelli, Cernak+ for example, but it would never happen in real life.

It is "Yikes" but thats how little Calgary wants to trade him and Eichel is the only player on Buffalo that Calgary would entertain a conversation over.

Damn its almost like you completely missed the point. Idc if Lindholm is not in the conversation for Eichel (which he would be but Calgary would have to add significantly obviously). As soon as Buffalo's GM calls and asks about Lindholm if the next word out of his moth isnt Eichel, Treliving is hanging up. Lindhom is a slightly worse version of Marner, making less than half of Marner and locked up long term like Marner.

They won’t trade him, so it’s pointless. Not within the next 5 years anyway

Lindholm has already been traded once and for far less than Eichel. Not sure why you think Eichel would be the demand. He’s more on par with Reinhart, who by the way, I wouldn’t trade for lindholm either. Not because I think reino is better, but more because... what’s the benefit to either team?
