My best guess is that if the offer is under 8.25 or so, he’ll be back in boston.

Montreal isn't giving up their only 2 goal scoring winger prospects. Not even for Girard.

He did say he would like to stay in Boston he'd take less than market value to stay in Boston. With all of the lost revenue this season money will be tight until the new tv deal is in place. So if Boston wins the cup this year there is a good chance they don't try to resign him and go with one of their D prospects they do have a couple that are really good. That is the only way I see Krug leaving Boston.

Lot of really definitive language there for a situation both of us are guessing about.

Krug has a niche in Boston. I wonder if he would be "as good" if he was the one of the two Dmen leaders for another team. Bruins have done a great job spreading out the responsibilities, ice time with their players. Just don't know if Krug can step in up with another organization.

There is definitely logic behind this, so nice job there. My criticism is that it's a lot of work for an upgrade at a position the team doesn't need, and also that I don't love Caufield. I think the Avs can do better if they move Girard.

Fun post though, for sure.

Cole Caufield has committed to Wisconsin for his Sophomore year. So he's not playing in the NHL next season. And no way Krug takes less then $8 million per on the open market. He stays in Boston at that price.
